The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

An RHI Eligible Boiler The domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), which launched in April 2014, is a Government backed scheme designed to increase the uptake of renewable heat. The purpose of the scheme is to provide long term financial incentives, to significantly increase the proportion of heat generated from renewable sources, in a sector dominated by fossil fuel technologies. The Government's hopes for the RHI are that it will help the UK to meet its 2020 EU targets in reducing carbon emissions whilst improving energy security.

RHI payments are made quarterly, directly into your bank account, over a 7 year period. Figures vary and the amount that you will be entitled to depends upon your home's deemed heat use and this figure will be taken from your Energy Performance (EPC).
